Welcome to the  Centre for Environmental Magnetism and Palaeomagnetism (CEMP)

The CEMP is an internationally known  research group within the Lancaster Environment Centre, Lancaster University, forming part of the Environmental Geosciences research group.

Our areas of research are focused on environmental magnetism and palaeomagnetism applied to sediments and soils. Currently, application areas include palaeoclimate, geochronology at a variety of timescales, pollution monitoring/ evaluation and sediment tracing in both terrestrial and marine systems. We also provide cutting-edge analytical services to a range of business and commercial partners .
